Reshma Saujani, Girls Who Code

Just named #1 for not-for-profits on Fast Company’s prestigious annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2019, Girls Who Code is an international non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. Founder and CEO Reshma Saujani passionately believes in the power of women to shape business and the world, and that taking risks, hustling, failing and never giving up are the keys to success.  She is an inspiration who is making history every day. Sobering statistic: although 74% of girls at middle school age show interest in STEM, only 0.4% choose to study computer science in college.  How has she made a difference? 90% of participants in the Girls Who Code computer science programs and trainings decided to study computer science or a closely related field after the program, which provide more in demand high paying jobs after graduation. That’s changing the course of history in the best possible way.  Click here to donate to support them if you can!
